The Skinner Brothers

The Skinner Brothers are an independent UK band built around Soul Boy, who moved to London with very little and a belief that music could be a way forward. Early on there was some momentum, including a major support slot with Kasabian, but it didn’t take long to realise the music industry mostly works if you’ve got money or backing. Without that, the support faded. Rather than walking away, Soulboy stepped outside the system and focused on doing things independently. No label, no industry support, just writing music and building something directly with the people who connected with it. Over time, that turned into a community made up of people of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom never felt part of the “traditional scene”. This story isn’t finished.
It’s still growing, and it’s being written on their own terms.
